A New Jersey native, Dr. Simon graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY with honors and an undergraduate degree in biochemistry. She pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian at the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine during which time she volunteered at the Wildlife Medical Clinic.
Now the proud owner of Northvale Veterinary Clinic, where she feels privileged to provide care for pets in need, Dr. Simon is known for the deep understanding and compassion she offers every visitor that enters her clinic. A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, she also works hard to assist rescues in need and one day putting an end to animal cruelty.
When not taking care of pets at the clinic, Dr. Simon enjoys freestyle skiing, golfing, hiking, camping and travelling the world. Most of her spare time is spent with friends and family, including her cats Jerry and Freud who remind her every day of Immanual Kant’s famous quote: “We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.”
Jennifer started working with us initially as a veterinary assistant/technician here at NVVC in early January of 2019. She is a graduate of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey where she majored in Animal Science and minored in Biochemistry. Jennifer has loved being around animals all her life since her grandmother lived and raised farm animals. She always knew she wanted a career that involved animals. In her everyday work, Jennifer always puts her heart into everything she did, and this we noticed. An opportunity arose and we asked Jennifer if she would like to take on a new path in her career as our practice manager, and she said yes! Jennifer enjoys her work here with us and has become more than just a manager, but our family. Jennifer has started her own “trap and release” for her own stray cats that she takes care of when she’s not at work. She brings them in to get spayed/neutered and vaccinates them as well as treating them if they are sick so they can still enjoy a nice healthy life. Although she loves them all, Jennifer has a soft spot for rabbits and rodents. During her spare time, she enjoys hiking, karaoke, and let’s not forget football!
Jillian started working with us in April of 2021 and brought her humor and positive energy with her! Jillian is a current student at BCC studying their Veterinary Technology program and is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2023 and plans to get her bachelors in veterinary technology afterward. When she’s not working or studying she’s caring for her miniature zoo she has at home! She loves caring and cuddling with her guinea pigs, rabbit, fat-tailed gecko, a crested gecko, and her German Shepherd. Jillian has had a love and passion for animals since she was a little girl and nothing has changed since! She wakes up every morning with a huge smile on her face knowing she gets to help and care for all of your lovable furry family members.
